How Pricing Works
If you decide to move forward with a recommended repair or battery replacement at our shop, the diagnostic fee comes off your final invoice — you don't pay twice. The fees apply only when the scan is performed as a standalone service — useful if you want a second opinion or need scan results to share with another shop.
Two Diagnostic Levels
Most customers start with a standard scan. If symptoms are intermittent or codes need further investigation, the deep scan gives our technicians more to work with.

Waived with repair or replacement
OBD-II + Hybrid System Code Pull
A focused scan that pulls active diagnostic trouble codes from the hybrid system, engine, and supporting modules. The technician reviews any codes present, identifies what they typically point to, and helps you understand whether deeper testing is needed. Useful when a warning light has just appeared and you want clarity before deciding on next steps.

Module-Level + Live Data Analysis
A more thorough investigation when symptoms are intermittent, multiple codes are present, or the standard scan needs further confirmation. The technician reviews data from across hybrid-related modules — including the battery management system, inverter, and supporting controllers — looks at relevant live data while the system runs, and works to narrow down what's actually causing the issue rather than what's simply being reported.

When to Get a Scan
Hybrid systems usually communicate through the dashboard before they fail. If any of these sound familiar, a scan is the right first step.
Often called the red triangle of death — generally indicates the hybrid system has detected a fault it considers significant.
A dedicated hybrid battery indicator — frequently points to issues with the high-voltage battery pack or its management system.
An unexpected drop in MPG can signal the hybrid system isn't operating efficiently — sometimes battery, sometimes elsewhere.
If the vehicle feels sluggish or the engine is working harder than usual, the hybrid system may not be contributing properly.
If the battery state-of-charge gauge moves unusually fast or seems unstable, it warrants investigation.
A check engine light that returns shortly after being cleared typically means there's an active issue worth reading.
Symptoms vary by vehicle and condition. Speak to a Specialist — we'll help you decide if a scan makes sense.
How It Works
Speak to a specialist or schedule online. Bring any prior diagnostic codes you've had pulled — they're useful context.
Hybrid-specific equipment retrieves codes from the relevant modules. Standard scan or deep scan based on what your symptoms call for.
A specialist walks through the findings in plain language — what the codes typically mean, what they don't, and what the next step looks like.
If a repair is recommended, the diagnostic fee is waived when you proceed. If you're getting a second opinion, the report is yours to take.
